We were delighted that Hendrix Genetics breeds featured in two awards.

Gordon Whiteford of Highland Eggs was the Outstanding and Group Winner of the Niche Egg Category. The eggs which were presented for judging came from a flock of Dekalb White birds.

This was the first year that the niche egg category had been introduced to the Scottish Egg Quality Awards and the winner was presented with the Margaret Drummond Cup.

The niche egg category was introduced to expand the scope of the competition and allow producers of white eggs, coloured eggs, duck eggs, quail eggs and double yolkers to take part.
