Introducing Will Judson

We are delighted to welcome Will Judson as our new Technical Sales Representative for customers in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the North East.

Will started his working life on the family farm at North Cave in East Yorkshire, selling free range eggs at the farm gate. Looking to expand the business beyond the farm gate scale, he joined the For Entrepreneurs Only (FEO), an independent Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Hull, with over 23,000 members representing successful private sector businesses of all sectors and sizes.

Experience is key

At FEO, Will met fellow members Chris and Tom Kirkwood of East Yorkshire egg producers, K Fresh Ltd. K Fresh produce both free range and colony eggs, all of which are marketed in collaboration with free range cooperative, Eggsell. Having just installed a 32,000 free range house, Chris and Tom invited Will to join K Fresh to work within their Free Range operation. In pursuit of more experience, he accepted the challenge, joining K Fresh in March 2017 and later being appointed the firm's Free Range Manager.

Over the last four years, the free-range operation at K Fresh has expanded, with Will currently managing a total of 128,000 layers housed in eight houses across two sites. It’s no surprise that Will has packed in a lot of experience, despite being only 27.

Of being thrown in at the deep-end so young, Will says, “I have a lot of experience for my age, and I have gained a lot of knowledge quickly. I am keen to share what I have learned with other producers. It will be a welcome change to be gaining experience outside of a farm-based role, and to meeting a larger pool of people”.

A new approach

Speaking of the appointment, Joice and Hill Sales Director, Peter Cumbers, said, “We look forward to welcoming Will to the team, he will bring a fresh new approach and enthusiasm to the role”.

Peter Rogerson, who is due to leave Joice and Hill on 25 June, is hoping to introduce Will to customers and begin handing over the reins after Will starts on 14 June.
