Congratulations to Jack McAlister and John & Nicola Peate – Winners at the 2025 Egg & Poultry Awards

Finalists, sponsors and guests gathered last night for the presentations to the winners in this year’s 2025 Egg & Poultry Awards

We are delighted to announce that our very own Jack McAlister, Planner/Department Lead at the Joice and Hill hatchery received the award for Young Farmer of the Year, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim. The judges looked for a high achieving individual who has brought new ideas to the business and was able to demonstrate a commitment to the industry. – well done Jack!

Our congratulations to John & Nicola Peate who won the Egg Producer of the Year award, sponsored By Co-op. The judges looked for strong performance against KPIs, including number of eggs per bird, hens housed and hen days, mortality, feed intake, egg weight and seconds percentage. John and Nicola joined the Dekalb White 500 Club in 2022 with their first flock of white birds, and their second flock of Dekalb White birds achieved record performance figures of 544 eggs over 105 weeks.

Holding Award

The National Egg & Poultry Awards is a prestigious awards ceremony backed by the British Poultry Council (BPC), the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) and the National Farmers Union (NFU), to honour and reflect achievement, excellence and best practice in the British Egg and Poultry sector, while promoting the industry, and providing networking opportunities for sector members.
