Back of the Net – Successful Netherlands Team on Tour in the UK!

Simon Bowden of Joice and Hill recently hosted a team of eight visitors from Dutch feed specialists Voergroep Zuid (Feed Group South). The trip was set up to recognise their success in achieving their target last year, despite the challenges created by the Netherlands government, who are offering financial compensation to farmers who voluntarily agree to close down their livestock operations.

The itinerary included visits to a Lloyds Feed Mill, a Country Fresh Pullets Rearing Farm, Rowland Morris’ feed mill which feeds his 96k flock of English Burford Browns, and an excursion to meet David and Lynda Jones in Powys to see Trevoil Farm Feeds and their flocks of Dekalb White layers. Peter Cumbers joined the group at Lloyds for a technical talk on the UK layer industry, and the hectic schedule concluded with a tour of the Manchester City Football Stadium.

“Our goal was to provide an interesting itinerary, and I think we hit the back of the net” Simon commented.

Voergroep Zuid is one of the top 5 compound feed companies in the Netherlands. Their core business is the production and sale of high-quality compound feed and feed ingredients for pigs, cattle, goats, and poultry.
