Blue Barns Celebrate Record Sales

Blue Barns Poultry announced record sales in 2013, achieving a total of 2 million birds sold across Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland for the first time. This is all more remarkable as it represents a doubling in sales in the last three years.
Blue Barns Poultry was established in 1972 and is now one of the North’s largest and most trusted suppliers of chicks and pullets to major egg packers, producers and free range farmers, in the region.
Commenting on the impact of ISAs R&D drive for longer laying cycles, Keith said: “The Bovans Brown is proving exceptionally reliable. As the geneticists continue to push towards 500 eggs per cycle we see increased performance at the end of lay. Customers are definitely extending cycles in response to the improvements.”
